A trip to the beach- Exactly what you need!

Need a vacation? I know I do! And for the first time since we got married, our family is taking a trip to the beach! At last! So I thought I’d do a little research and I discovered many health benefits a trip to the beach brings.

By now, we’ve all been educated about the Vitamin D benefits we receive from the sun. But the beach’s other elements provide numerous benefits to our health and well-being.

The Water:

The Science Part-

Our oceans naturally contain minerals like Iodine, Sodium Chloride, Magnesium, Bromine, Potassium, Phosphorite and more!

Now, what does this mean for your body?

For your skin, these particles:

  • Aid in healing acne, rosacea, semi-permanent scars, cuts, sores, and eczema
  • Reduce the appearance of stretch marks
  • Provide toning
  • Maintain elasticity
  • Alleviate puffy eyes
  • Exfoliate those dead skin cells
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and cellulite
  • Provide your skin with moisture

In conclusion, splashing in the water gives you better benefits than a day at the spa!

For your hair, these particles:

  • Strip your hair of product chemicals
  • Improve body
  • Add shine
  • Protect against damage
  • Can be used for the treatment of dandruff
  • Adds overall volume to your locks

From all the daily damage our hair takes, just one wade in the water will restore and renew your follicles bringing you lucious benefits that you can’t receive at a salon.

For your body, entering by way of your pores, these particles:

  • Relieve psoriasis and arthritis
  • Remove toxins
  • Improve blood circulation to your organs
  • Improve the function of your nervous system
  • Provide lymphatic drainage
  • Prevent muscle pain, spasms and cramps.
  • Clear your nasal passages providing relief and comfort of breathing.
  • Reduce inflammation
  • Preserve the serotonin levels in your brain providing stress relief
  • Increase metabolism

The Sand:

The Science Part-

Our sands are made up of different components varying on location. But the majority of our beach sand is made up of quartz, mica, shell particles, bits of feldspar, coral, and other rock fragments. Due to weather processes, mechanical forces and bio-erosion, these components are grinded down over time, forming a small grain that is significantly smoother to the touch.

Besides being a natural exfoliant that removes dead skin cells from worn, cracked feet, walking and running in the sand is really good for working out some uncommonly used muscles. You actually burn up to fifty percent more calories in the sand than you would on regular walking surfaces!

The Air:

The Science Part-

We surround ourselves today with computers, phones, televisions, and various electronics that give off an abundance of positive ions, also known as free radicals. The sea air has been proven to be filled with negative ions.

What does that do for us?

It improves our clarity, alertness, calmness, and overall concentration. The air is also especially good for people with asthma, bronchitis and other respiratory ailments because it fills your lungs and slows down the process of phlegm allowing you to breathe easier. So take a good whiff of that salty air and reap its benefits!

So, you see? A trip to the beach might be EXACTLY what you need!
